The colors of the sea urchin. February-March

Fishing for sea urchin, said “bogamarì”, is an ever-living tradition  not only by Alghero, but also by the inhabitants of the surrounding towns, and it acquires great tourist importance. People tremble from great desire to taste the red pulp of this fruit of the sea accompanied with bread: it is a true delicacy. It takes place  almost always and  throughout the month of March it is an event that provides the Catalan city a remarkable cultural and gastronomic identity, since many restaurants offer the sea urchins in different and delicious recipes.
