VACATION IN SARDINIA IN SEPTEMBER : A DAYDREAM!

I will ever go on saying that Sardinia is a unique and wonderful land. There is the illness of Africa, and there is the illness of Sardinia.

Anyone who has had the luck of knowing this land carries it forever in his heart. The desire to know new beaches, new colors, new Sardinian towns always remains alive!

Finding seas comparable to the one in Sardinia, in beauty, is really difficult.

Discovering Sardinia in the different seasons becomes an additional challenge! That’s why you should spend a holiday in Sardinia in September, enjoying a perfect and ideal climate for everyone, not too hot and not too cold!

Sardinia in September where to go

All areas of this region are perfect for a September vacation. In this month, however the weather slowly begins to change, the days are shorter. The advise therefore is to choose locations that allow alternative activities, in case the sun hides behind the clouds . Better think of an itinerary that leads you to know different areas of the island.

Here is an idea for a September stay!

For those who love wild and un-touristy Sardinia, I recommend a trip from the west coast, the Costa Verde.

This is the chromatic effect that  derives from the mixture of the green colour of the sea, with the golden one of the sand dunes, the silver of the rocks and the green of the Mediterranean scrub. The dunes of Porto Pino leave you breathless, as does the beach of Piscinas . In Torre dei Corsari, instead, it is possible to practice surfing, and all water sports that require the presence of strong winds.

Going north it deserves a stop in Oristano, rich in history and monuments and surrounded  by beautiful beaches. The surroundings of Oristano are also wonderful.

A must is the beach of Is Aruba’s, unique in its kind. It is a crescent whose shore is made up of colored quartz grains (from white to pink to green) Rounded like rice. I let you immagine the effect created by the union of quartz, transparent water, and the sun’s rays! This beach is called ‘the pearl of the Sinis peninsula..

The path then continues towards Bosa, a multicolored town dominated by the Medieval Malaspina Castel. You can reach it on foot and from here you can admire an incredible panorama.

The town is divided in two by the mouth of the Temo river and this makes it even more particular.

The final stage will take you to ALGHERO, on the Riviera del Corallo. This city is a must for the many experiences that it is possible to live here. We, therefore advise you to conclude the journey from south west to north west, dedicating a few days to this area.

Alghero and its surroundings are rich in history and traditions, you can combine cultural and naturalistic visits.

In addition to the presence of beaches, among the most beautiful in Sardinia, we remind you the Neptune Caves, the nearby Asinara island, the Porto Conte Natural Park.

In short, time will never be enough to discover  all the wonders of this stretch of the Riviera del Corallo.

What is the weather like in September?

This is one of the most frequent questions that are asked by those who have the desire to visit Sardinia in September. This is normal, weather conditions are fundamental for the success of any holidays.

I can tell you that the temperatures in September are ideal: not too hot, the sun is still hot but does not reach the peaks of July and August. The evenings and nights are cooler and you will no longer need air conditioning !

This temperature is also perfect to practice water sports and others.
